Congratulations Mei Lia White!
Greenback School is pleased to announce that Mei Lia White is our Loudon County Spelling Bee Champion. Mei Lia, is a sixth grader and competed against students in grades fourth through eight from Loudon County to win her a chance to participate in the regional spelling bee, which will take place this March at the University of Tennessee. Good Luck Mei Lia, we are proud of you.

Congratulations Rachel Moffett
Rachel Moffett, of Greenback School, recently competed in the Drum Majorettes of America National Finals held July 22-28 at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina.  Rachel was crowned Drum Majorettes of America Novice Princess 2011 in the 13-14 age group.
New Immunization Rules for 7th Grade Students

The Tennessee Department of Health has issued new immunization rules and is issuing a new official certificate that is required for entry into school effective July 1, 2010. Children entering 7th grade must show proof of two new immunizations which are Tdap booster and 2 doses of Varicella. Students who do not have proper documentation will not be allowed to attend public schools. The immunization record for 7th grade students will need to be turned in to the school nurse at the beginning of the upcoming school year. Records may also be mailed directly to the school for your convienence. Please contact your child's primary care doctor or the Loudon County Health Department to obtain the requirements. If you have any questions, please contact the school nurse. 
Congratulations to Diamond Leonard
Diamond was recognized in the 2011 Duke University TIP 7th grade Talent Search for being in the top 39% of students who took the ACT. Diamond scored at college level in reading.  The Duke TIP program is designed to recognize talented and gifted 7th graders and allow them to take either the ACT or SAT test early. The two medals Diamond received are from Duke University and Vanderbilt University.
