It is truly an honor to write this letter today as the Head Football Coach of our beloved Cherokees. I want to first give the praise, glory, and honor to my Heavenly Father for giving me this opportunity. Second, I want to thank Mr. Casteel, Mrs. Blankenship, and our current football staff for believing in me and being willing to give me a chance. Lastly, I want to say thank you to my wife and my family for supporting me throughout this process.
Becoming a head football coach has always been a dream of mind, however, I never knew the path I would take to get there. Even though my journey was a short one, I honestly believe this was all apart of God’s plan. I want to thank the coaches, Ive played for, coached under, and coach with for making me the coach I am today. Without these guys, I wouldn’t have had the blue print I needed to become a head coach.
As the head coach, my goal is to focus on 3 aspects of our program. I want to first capture the hearts of our student athletes, motivate them to become successful individuals, and create a family environment. My staff and I are excited about this new era of Greenback Football. As we continue to build on the foundation that was set forth, we encourage you take part in the new things to come.
Throughout this process, one thing I always was reminded of is how Greenback truly is the GREATEST PLACE ON EARTH! One thing that makes this the greatest place on earth is the community. It is my hope that we can create an environment that you feel welcomed, and produce a product you will be proud of. I hope you will support our boys, coaching staff, and myself as we begin this journey of reaching the prize we have set out for.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND ALWAYS REMEMBER IT’S ….
OUR TOWN, OUR TEAM, OUR TIME!
COACH DUSTIN LYLES
