A little about me:
I have a Bachelors in Fine Arts in Advertising Design from Syracuse University and a Masters of Curriculum & Instruction from Chapman University with a minor in mathematics.
I have been a math teacher since 1999. I have taught in California, Hawaii, and Tennessee. Math courses include; Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry/PreCalc, IB Math Studies, UH Math 75, College Algebra, Calculus AB, and have been an assistant instructor in the University of Hawaii Early College program for Math 103, Math 141, Math 242, and Math 243.
I am married and have a dog named Bella and a cat named Nugget. My husband and I love to go fishing, but we both prefer catching. My other hobbies include audiobooks and textile arts.
Expectations of my students:
Do Math! As a wise one said, and I quote: "Try not! Do or Do Not, There is no Try." - Yoda
Math is just like learning an instrument, video game, or sport. If you don't practice and gain skills your abilities will be limited.
I will try and dedicate as much class time for students to practice and Do Math. During that time I will coach and assist when necessary. We as human beings learn much more by doing it ourselves than watching others.
