1. This is the last week of school before fall break. Fall break is next week, October 6-10. Classes resume on Monday, October 13.
2. High school seniors will take the ACT here at Greenback School tomorrow, September 30, during the school day. This test is free to all high school seniors. Seniors will be allowed to leave once they are finished with the test.
3. There will be a Boy Scout interest meeting for students in grades K-8 on Wednesday, Oct. 1. The meeting will be in the cafeteria beginning at 6 PM. A representative from the Boy Scouts will be here to answer questions and provide information.
4. Middle school students who qualified for the reward field trip will visit Zoo Knoxville this Thursday, Oct. 2.
5. We will have a make-up fall picture day on Thursday, Oct. 2. Any student who was absent or needs a re-take can have a make-up picture made.

9. The high school football team has an away game this Friday Oct. 3 as they travel to Wartburg Central. The middle school football team plays Carter at home this Thursday, starting at 7:00 PM. 8th graders will be recognized at this game. The high school girls’ soccer team has two games this week. They travel to Eagleton tonight for a district game, and then play at home tomorrow night beginning at 6 :30 PM. The high school volleyball team plays at home tomorrow night in a match-up against Wartburg Central beginning at 5:30. Middle school and elementary cross country track team members will participate in the state qualifying competition this Saturday, Oct. 4 at Victor Ashe Park in Knoxville.
Greenback School is interviewing certified teachers for an interim elementary teaching position. The interim position will begin Oct. 13 and last until the winter break (Dec. 19). The Greenback high school football game against Oliver Springs on 9/19/25 will start at 7:30 PM instead of 7 PM.
Greenback School will host a fall festival and One Book Blitz celebration on Thursday, Oct. 2 from 5-7 PM. All booths and activities will be themed to this year's book title, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Change in Kick-Off Time: The high school football game on Friday, September 19 will begin at 7:30 instead of 7:00 PM.

3. This Wednesday, September 17, Smiley Swirl ice cream truck will be at GBS for our high school students during their extended lunch period. Students can purchase cups, cones, and bars for $4, or shakes & sundaes for $5! It is cash only, so make sure to bring cash this Wednesday!
4. High school seniors will take a field trip on September 18 to Maryville, TN for senior pictures. Students will take a class photo as well as individual casual pictures. Students must turn in a permission slip, signed by a parent, to attend.
5. Football homecoming is Friday, September 26. The homecoming court will be presented prior to kick-off.
