
The Greenback softball team finished regular season play tonight with a win against Midway by a score of 6-2. The softball team finished with a 14-0 record!


The Greenback baseball team is in action tonight in the district tournament. Greenback is leading Harriman by a score of 12-1 in the fourth inning. Go 'Kees!


The Greenback FFA is holding its annual spring meeting and banquet. The event celebrates this year's accomplishments by the FFA students and officers.


The Greenback band performed their spring concert on Sunday afternoon. Great job to all band members, and a big thanks to Mr. Hudson.

The Greenback School senior class project for this year was to create a serenity garden near the back entrance of the school. High school seniors braved the cold temperatures this morning to complete the project! Thanks to Mrs. Hawkins, Mrs. Hicks, and Mr. O'Neill for organizing the project.



Due to the threat of severe weather later this afternoon, our after school LAUNCH program is canceled for today, Tuesday, April 2. This only impacts those students who stay for LAUNCH on Tuesdays. Please call the office to let us know how your child will be getting home today.


A FAFSA Outreach Specialist will be at Greenback School on Wednesday, April 10 at 9 AM to assist students and families who still need assistance completing their FAFSA. Parents planning to attend will need to sign in at the main office. Your drivers license will be necessary to sign in.


Report cards for some students will not be sent home until tomorrow, Friday, March 22. We apologize for the delay.


Greenback School will dismiss at 11 AM on Monday, April 8 due to the eclipse that will be visible in east Tennessee. Pre-K will dismiss at 10 AM.

Students on bus 21 will arrive home late on WEDNESDAY afternoon, 3/06/24. Students who ride bus 21 will not leave the school until approx. 4:10. They will arrive home an hour or more later than usual. Consider picking your child up as a car rider on 3/06/24.


Students who ride bus 21 will be one hour late for pick-up on Monday morning, 3/4/24, and one hour late getting home in the afternoon of 3/4/24.


Greenback School resumed normal procedures at 1:11 PM. We are no longer on a soft lockdown. There was an individual on school grounds who did not follow procedures for being on our campus. Local law enforcement agencies were notified, as a precaution, and have provided clearance for us to resume a normal schedule.

Greenback School is currently under a soft lockdown just as a precautionary measure. There is no threat facing the students or staff. We will provide more information in a later update.

This is a reminder about the FAFSA meeting scheduled for Monday night in the Greenback School library. This meeting is for graduating high school SENIORS ONLY. The purpose of the meeting is to set up and complete the FAFSA enrollment, which is required for those students who are pursuing post-secondary education after graduation. The meeting is from 5-7 PM.


The bus 21 route will be running late the afternoon of Monday, Feb. 5. Bus 19 will be running the 21 route and will be at least one hour late. Bus 21 students will not be picked up from school until 4:15. Parents may want to pick their child up from school due to the late arrival time home.


Based on current conditions, Greenback School will be closed on Monday, January 22.


Based on current conditions, Loudon County Schools will be closed tomorrow January 18 and Friday, January 19.


The middle school and high school basketball games scheduled for Monday night, January 15, have been cancelled. No make-up dates have been set.
