Dress Code Reminder-
Just like last year, pajamas, house shoes/slippers, and blankets are not allowed at school.
Cell Phone Policy-
Our cell phone rules will stay the same for the new school year.

Registration deadline is this Friday, June 19! RIO Revolution Church will host its annual Helping Hands event at Greenback School on Saturday, July 25. Use this link to register! Registration closes at 7 PM on June 19.

Coach Curtis will meet with the boys' basketball team this Thursday, May 21 at 3:30 PM in the school gym. All boys who are interested in playing are welcome to attend!
2. This Wednesday, May 13, the Kindergarten students will go to the splash pad in downtown Lenoir City. They will have Kindergarten graduation on Thursday, May 14 at 9 AM. Kindergarten graduation will be in the school gym.
3. The 2nd graders will have their wax museum this Wednesday, May 13. Parents who are planning to attend will need to check in through the main office. Remember to bring your driver’s license.
4. Middle school students who qualify for the final incentive trip will go to Top Golf this Thursday, May 14.
5. Again, this Friday, May 15 is our last day of school! This is a half-day of school and dismissal begins at 11 AM. Report cards will not be available until 10 AM. Buses will run on this day. Lunch will NOT be served.
6. We have accumulated a large amount of clothes in our lost & found. All items in the lost & found are currently in the rotunda, just outside our main office. Parents, you are welcome to look through the items for anything that belongs to your child. Just check in at the main office. All items left will be donated at the end of this week.
7. Middle school tryouts for girls’ basketball are scheduled for today, Monday, May 11. Tryouts for high school girls’ volleyball will take place on May 15 beginning at 12 noon. This is the last day of school and is only a half-day with dismissal beginning at 11 AM. And lastly, girls who will be in high school next year and want to try out for the high school cheerleading team need to pick up a packet from the main office. High school cheerleading clinic and tryouts are May 11th-14th.
8. We are having a school-wide campus clean-up day on May 12. If you’d like to donate some lawn/leaf bags or some small bottles of water for our students, you can drop those items off at the main office.

We are writing to inform you of a cybersecurity incident involving Instructure, the parent company of Canvas, which is used by Loudon High School, Fort Loudoun Middle School, and Greenback High School. Instructure has reported that it experienced a criminal cybersecurity incident and that the incident appears to be contained. While Canvas was down for several hours on Thursday, May 7, the company has restored access to users as of Friday, May 8.
According to information provided by the company, the data involved appears to include names, email addresses, student ID numbers, and messages among Canvas users. At this time, Instructure has stated that it has no evidence that passwords, dates of birth, government identification numbers, or financial information were involved.
We are continuing to monitor this situation closely and are awaiting additional updates from Instructure regarding next steps. As we learn more, we will share relevant information with families and staff. In the meantime, we encourage all students, staff, and families to be especially cautious with emails or messages that reference classes, assignments, student ID numbers, school accounts, or Canvas conversations. Please avoid clicking on suspicious links, opening unexpected attachments, or providing login information in response to an email or message.
2. 3rd and 4th grade students will be attending a field trip to the zoo on Wednesday, May 6.
3. If your child received an invitation for summer school, please return the letter by WEDNESDAY!
4. Parents and guardians, we need your help! Greenback School is very close to meeting its annual attendance goal that is set each year by Tennessee’s state department of education! We are very close to our goal with just weeks remaining! Please help us meet our goal by having your child at school each day. We have made great strides this year, and we thank you for your help.
5. We wrap up the last of spring testing this week! The state-dual-credit exam for US History is on Wednesday, May 6.
6. This Thursday, May 7, students have the chance to purchase ice cream from the Smiley Swirl Ice Cream Truck! Your child should have brought a note home last week about this event. The cost for students is $3.50.
7. This Thursday, May 7 is also high school graduation for the senior class of 2026! Graduation rehearsal is in the morning, and the graduation ceremony begins at 6 PM in the school gymnasium.
8. Friday, May 8 is Field Day for students in grades PreK through 5. Please make sure your child dresses appropriately for the day.

4. On Wednesday, our PreK and First Grade classes have a field trip to Zoo Knoxville. Additionally, we have high school students going to Zoo Knoxville this same day on a Biology Class field trip. This Thursday some of our 4th and 5th grade students will attend the Robert Towns Track Meet at Lenoir City Intermediate/Middle School.
5. This Thursday evening, we have Senior Awards Night for graduating seniors. If you received an invitation, we hope you will be able to attend. We will recognize academic accomplishments and present college scholarships to our graduation seniors. The program begins at 6 PM.
6. This Thursday, April 30 is the last day for all afterschool LAUNCH activities.
7. Only a few of the extra yearbooks are left for purchase. If interested, yearbooks cost $75, and you can pay with cash or check (checks payable to Greenback School).
8. Tryouts for middle school boys’ basketball are this Friday, May 1 from 3:30 to 5 PM. Tryouts of elementary girls’ basketball are next Monday, May 4, also beginning at 3:30. Middle school tryouts for girls’ basketball are scheduled for Monday May 11. And lastly, girls who will be in high school next year and want to try out for the high school cheerleading team need to pick up a packet from the main office. High school cheerleading clinic and tryouts are May 11th-14th.
9. This Saturday, May 2 is high school prom. Tickets are still available and are now open to high school sophomores. Prom tickets are $50 per person.

4. This Wednesday, April 22, Greenback School will have an induction ceremony for new student members of the National Honor Society. The program begins at 6 PM in the school library.
5. Kindergarten students will take a field trip this Thursday to the Muse in Knoxville. The 5th grade will go on a field trip to Neyland Stadium this Friday, April 24.
6. The date for our Academic Signing Day for graduating seniors has been changed to Monday, April 27 beginning at 8:30 AM. Parents and other family members are invited to attend!

11. The high school baseball team is winding down its regular season action by playing a handful of games this week. They play at home on Tuesday and Thursday, while playing away today, Friday, and then again on Saturday. The soccer team plays Polk County at home tomorrow night and then travels to York Institute on Friday. The softball team is at home for two games this week, playing tomorrow night and Thursday night. And the middle school volleyball team has a JV tournament this Saturday at Heritage Middle School.

2. Tomorrow, middle school students will take ELA Part 1 of the TCAP, and high school students will take Part 1 of the English EOC. Students will not test every day but will test off-and-on through April 28 (Testing for grades 2-8 will end on April 23rd). Please have your child here on-time each day of testing!
3. For high school seniors, the Loudon County Education Foundation (LCEF) scholarship application is due on Wednesday, April 15. Make sure to turn in your application to Mrs. Moffett in the guidance office.
4. Our kindergarten students will have their cap and gown photos taken this Thursday, April 16.
5. This Thursday evening, April 16, our GBS band will perform their spring concert. The concert will take place in the Assembly Room beginning at 6 PM. Everyone is invited!

And after two away games on Tuesday and Thursday they return home this Friday night to take on Polk County starting at 5 PM. The soccer team travels to Oliver Springs tomorrow, April 14. The softball team also faces Oakdale today in a home game beginning at 6 PM. They travel to Wartburg this Friday. The middle school baseball team has two home games this week, playing Tuesday and Thursday with both games starting at 5:30 PM. And the middle school volleyball team travels to Madisonville tomorrow, April 14, and then to Tellico Plains on Thursday.
