This week, Greenback School highlights two more teachers who have joined the staff in 2026! Jenna Pittman will be teaching Agriculture Science courses and sponsoring the FFA program. Zac Swafford is the new GBS Band Director and will be teaching band and music.

Greenback School will have registration day for ALL students on Monday, August 3 from 8 AM to 3 PM. Student stagger days (grades 1-12 ONLY) begin Tuesday, August 4.

This coming Saturday, July 25, is the annual Helping Hands event sponsored by RIO Revolution Church! The event opens at 9 AM in front of the Greenback School cafeteria and runs until 1 PM.

Greenback Golf UPDATED post: Students who are interested in playing golf need to meet at Kahite Golf Course this THURSDAY, JULY 16 at 5:45 PM. Golfers will meet with Coach Curtis and practice from 6-7:30 PM.

This week, Greenback School is highlighting two more teachers who have joined the GBS staff for 2026-2027. Rachael Henry is returning to GBS after a couple of years at Maryville Christian School. Cody Wilhite is transferring from Ft. Loudoun Middle School to GBS.

As we prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, make it a priority this school year to choose your words carefully! Do your part to make the school environment feel positive and safe for everyone. Refrain from using inappropriate, insensitive, and hurtful language at school and at extra-curricular school events.

Greenback School welcomes several new teachers and coaches to its staff for the 2026-2027 school year. Today, we highlight Mrs. Kristen Walls and Mr. Daniel Curtis.

Dress Code Reminder-
Just like last year, pajamas, house shoes/slippers, and blankets are not allowed at school.
Cell Phone Policy-
Our cell phone rules will stay the same for the new school year.

Registration deadline is this Friday, June 19! RIO Revolution Church will host its annual Helping Hands event at Greenback School on Saturday, July 25. Use this link to register! Registration closes at 7 PM on June 19.

The middle school girls' basketball program at Greenback School is hosting a kids' camp for girls and boys in grades K-5 on July 16 and 17. The camp is 9 am to 12 noon both days. Email Coach Morton at mortonl@loudoncounty.org to register.

The Greenback high school cheerleading team will host a cheer camp for kids ages 4 years old to rising 6th graders on July 13, 14, & 15! Register by emailing coach Kendra Titlow - titlowk@loudoncounty.org

There will be an interest meeting on July 16 for those rising 6th-8th graders interested in middle school cheerleading. The meeting will take place at 6 PM in the school's cafeteria.

The basketball camp scheduled for May 20 & 21 at Greenback School has been cancelled.

Greenback School is proud to introduce Daniel Curtis as the high school boys' basketball coach! Coach Curtis brings nearly 20 years of coaching experience to Greenback. In his previous coaching stops, Coach Curtis has led teams to five regular season district championships, and one district tournament championship. He is a four-time District Coach of the Year. Coach Curtis will also take over as the golf coach for the Greenback Cherokees.

Coach Curtis will meet with the boys' basketball team this Thursday, May 21 at 3:30 PM in the school gym. All boys who are interested in playing are welcome to attend!

For students attending summer school, it begins Tuesday, May 26. Students can be dropped off as early as 7:45. Morning drop-off is at the cafeteria. Dismissal is at 3 PM and will take place at the main front entrance. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
